Batch Cocktails: Orange and Rum
April 24, 2024In a recent blogpost we looked at various ideas for signature cocktails, but what if you prefer something with stronger, bitter flavours of rum and orange? Well we’ve got you covered with a delicious rum and orange cocktail! Not only that, we’ve already batched the recipe to make it even easier to make (and drink).
We’d describe this cocktail as starting out as warm, light molasses sweetness with the first sip and then transforming into a pleasant bitter finish, with a smoky aftertaste.
Ingredients and Equipment:
- Appleton Estate Signature Rum
- Amaro Montenegro
- Carpano Antica Formula Vermouth
- Grapefruit Bitters
- Ice Cubes
- Orange or Grapefruit peel twist for topping
- iKegger Mini Keg System
- Nitrogen Bulbs for serving

Method:
- Make sure all your ingredients and mini keg are chilled before starting
- Using the table above, pour the quantity of the ingredients you need directly into your keg
- Gently swirl your keg to mix the ingredients
- Screw your iKegger 2.0 tap into the keg and attach the regulator and screw in your nitrogen bulb (If you’re using larger kegs it might be worth looking into using larger nitro bottles )
- Add ice cubes to your glass and pour your delicious cocktail over the ice
- Top with a twist of orange or grapefruit and serve
- Enjoy
